Dr. Barbara Sturm

The founder of Dr. Barbara

Dr. Barbara Sturm is a German physician, orthopedic specialist, aesthetics expert, and trailblazer in anti-inflammatory medicine. She earned her degrees in Medicine and Sports at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf before co-developing breakthrough orthopedic treatments for inflammatory conditions like osteoarthritis, using the body’s own proteins and healing factors to halt inflammation and stimulate tissue regeneration .

In 2002, she transferred her clinical insights into aesthetics, combining hyaluronic acid, Botox, and her pioneering concept of mixing in the body’s own anti-inflammatory factors. This led to her Platelet‑Rich Plasma (PRP) “Blood Facial” (MCX treatment) and her instantly cult-followed MC1 plasma-based moisturizer .

Driven by patient demand, she launched her Molecular Cosmetics line in 2014—an anti-inflammatory skincare collection rooted in 25 years of scientific research. Powered by “molecular” formulations that act on a cellular level, these products repair, regenerate, and prevent inflammation for truly radiant skin .

Today, the Dr. Barbara Sturm brand includes seven spas and boutiques worldwide (London, New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Dallas, Düsseldorf, Soho), over 300 products, more than 5,000 personalized skincare routines, and a philosophy grounded in education, community, and science.

Molecular Cosmetics

Skincare Rooted in Molecular Science

At the heart of Dr. Barbara Sturm’s skincare philosophy is molecular science, formulated to work at the cellular level. Each active ingredient functions like a molecule with its own size, structure, and targeted pathway, allowing it to perform specific, focused tasks within the skin, which helps achieve the effectiveness. To be truly effective, its molecular design must take a 360° approach, encompassing healing, repairing, and regenerating across the skin’s complex layers for long-lasting results.
