Is 111SKIN Worth The Price? Review On 111SKIN De-Puffing Eye Mask

111SKIN is the skin-preparation product line that we always see celebrities posting about around award season or fashion week. In fact, it’s difficult to navigate through TikTok or Instagram without running into a celebrity sporting an eye or sheet mask from 111Skin. We recently spotted Lady Gaga promoting the product on her Instagram:

111SKIN Masks Trending

The thing we really want to know is why the hype? What makes 111skin face masks different from other brands?

Dr.Skincare has identified a number of skincare brands that seek to capitalize on trends that alienate them from an authentic purpose or identity. We can confirm that 111Skin is not one of those brands, it is backed by science and always will be.

111SKIN – Backed By Science

From the beginning, 111Skin has maintained its scientific stance when it comes to skincare. The brand was founded by Harley-Street surgeon Yannis Alexandrides and his wife Eva Alexandrides, who have stuck to their clinical brand origin, developing products that derive from real experiences healing patients after surgery.  As a doctor, patient care was at the forefront of Dr. Alexandride’s mind, and performing extensive skincare research allowed him to create formulas that could be used for patient recovery after skin trauma. As a result of the doctor’s extensive research, NAC Y2 was developed and has remained a key ingredient of the 111SKIN product range.

We previously wrote a blog on the brand here – Who was 111SKIN founded by?

What’s 111SKIN NAC Y2?

NAC Y2 is broken down as n-acetylcysteine, ascorbyl phosphate, and aesculu/s hippocastum extract, and is a core ingredient in helping the skin recover from trauma. Not only does NAC y2 help skin, but it also has a beneficial impact on our bodies. It can improve immunological and cognitive function, improve respiratory conditions, and stabilize blood sugar by reducing inflammation in fat cells.

This core ingredient helped 111Skin develop trust in their doctor-led brand. Compared to  “trends” 111Skin focuses on skin health which adds value to all products developed by Dr. Yannis Alexandrides, therefore justifying the premium price.

What Should I Try?

Celebrities from Victoria Beckham to lady Gaga rave about these serum-steeped bio-cellulose masks, from the healing Y Theorum mask – based around the original NAC Y2 compound – to the caffeine-infused Sub-Zero De-Puffing mask, which aims to recreate the energising effects of a cryotherapy session. For a simple, quick skin fix, 111skin masks are an effective place to start and there are lots of options available to suit your individual skin type.

At Dr. Skincare, we decided to give the sub-zero de-puffing eye mask a go, purchasing a single sheet mask for £12 before committing to a full box.

How To Use 111Skin Sub-Zero De-Puffing Eye Mask

This mask should be applied on clean, dry skin, one under each eye. Leave on for 20 minutes, remove, and then allow the skin to absorb the remaining essence by gently patting the skin. For best results, it is recommended to put in the fridge overnight before use. However, at Dr Skincare, we applied straight without cooling first, and still seen a huge difference in our skin!

111Skin Sub-Zero De-Puffing Eye Mask Ingredients

The mask contains tetrapeptide-5 and alpha glucosyl hesperidin. It has a hydrogel texture that provides cooling hydration that helps to de-puff eyes, supporting skin firmness. The formula also boasts an invigorating infusion of caffeine, seeking to minimise the appearance of dark circles.

Would We Buy Again?

100%! We both suffer from black circles under our eyes which faded after just one use. In future, we will buy the multi-pack which works out better value per mask and can’t wait to try the face masks too.

Let us know if you try the product in the comments!
